I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming boxing match.

Former two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
